Under One Moon

A 2-Channel Video Installation by Sissi Kaplan, Vivian Wang, Sam I-shan
Hong Kong, 2024, 15’20, Colour, Stereo, Digital Video

Aborting her travels due to an infection during the pandemic’s early days, Sissi Kaplan was quarantined in hospital in Singapore, a city she only recently called home. While in isolation, she lost her father. Her exchanges with other humans were limited to hazmat-suited medical staff or through screens with remote family and friends. Reflecting on how people interact with each other, she responded creatively to separation and distance, contrasting the emotional richness of inner life with an outer world thrown into turmoil.
